The USF Africana Heritage Project has just posted 270 Freedmen's Labor Contracts for Berkeley County, South Carolina The contracts list more than 200 plantations and 5,000 freedpersons, and span the years 1865-1868. Access to all of the content on Africana Heritage is, and always will be, 100% free.
