Records of the Bay of Quinte The work of Dr Gary Alan Dickey Click on the two links below to see the extensive transcription done by Dr. Dickey and index of 11 inhabitant petitions from 1792 to 1850 involving 673 individuals regarding land in Ameliasburgh and Sophiasburgh Townships in Prince Edward County. "Inhabitant petitions" occured from time to time when a group of men (and sometimes a women or two) would sign a group petition making a request of the government. Thanks to Dr. Dickey, a Certified Genealogist living at Westlake Village, CA, for granting permission to post this work (2002) for wider distribution. Thanks also to Mark Davenport for seeing the work and suggesting this idea to Dr. Dickey.
