Quick Index
In my search to find both of my ROBERTSON lines, both of whom resided in and around Lamar County, AL about the same time, I have collected a lot of census records of "Unknown Robertsons," too. I decided to attempt to find and follow family groups that I have come across in Pickens, Fayette and Lamar Counties during 1840 to 1900, where these records are available online.

Also - check out what I have from the 1840 Pickens County, AL census. I put it in a separate file because the information is difficult to put in a table. I only ordered copies of the pages where there was a William Robertson listed.

Note: The links in the "Census records found" column are links to the exact pages where the family was found in most cases. I tried to alphabetize the first names of the head of household, and showed the last name by whatever spelling was used (didn't alphabetize them).
The group numbers are random numbers assigned by me - they do NOT come from any census records. They represent my attempts to follow family groups. If I can identify a patriarchal group, it is given a "main number" like "1" and then any children that are either clearly from or known to be from that group shown later in their own family groups are given the "main number" plus an alphabetical assignment. For instance, my paternal Robertson line from David & Adeline Robertson is numbered "5." When their children are found in later census records with their own families, they will be numbered "5a" "5b" etc.
