SCOTCH SHORTBREAD COOKIES Eloise Gredler

Cream 1 c. butter.
Add 1/2 c. confectioners sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla.
Add 2 c. flour and 1/4 tsp. baking powder.
On a floured surface, spread to 1/4 inch. thick; cut with cookie cutters.
Bake at 375 degrees 7 to 8 minutes for very small cookies. Regular sized cookies bake 10 minutes. Watch carefully. Bkae until just starting to brown on edges.
If dough sticks in cutter, hold over pan and push out gently.
