obituary of Laura Smith McCachren


Mrs. Laura (Smith) McCachren, passed away in the Emergency Hospital, Washington D.C., Thursday, April 18, at 4:50 am.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Henry H. and Mary (Sheppard) Smith and was born in East Wheatfield Township, March 1st, 1888.

She was the widow of Charles McCachren and had been making her home with her two daughters, Misses Naomi and Kathryn of Washington D.C. Other children surviving her are Mrs. Mary Jane McFeaters, Armagh; Frank G., Armagh; and Private Robert McCachren, U. S. Army, Atlanta, Georgia. One sister, Mrs. Harry Ling of Cresson, one grandson, and three granddaughters also survive.

Mrs. McCachren was a member of the Methodist Chruch of Armagh and the William Penn Grange.

Friends will be received in the home of her son, Frank G. McCachren, Armagh where services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Hunter Funeral Home of Blairsville are in charge of arrangements.
