Obituary of Isabel Shepard Darville "Mrs. Isabel Shepard Darville died in teh New York Hospital, N. Y., on May 23, 1952 after several months illness. She was the eldeset of eight children of Mr. and Mrs. William Shepard of North Bloomfield. Mrs. Darville was valedictorian of her class at the Honeoye Falls High School in 1906, attended Cornell where she graduated in 1910, and later completed a business course in Lancaster, Pa. She was employed in Rochester and Brockport, leaving the latter place to become the wife of another Cornellean, Mr. Merton a. Darville, and with him founded a home in Jackson Heights, L. I., where they have since resided. Mrs. Darville was an ardent worker in her community church; the Cornell Women's Alumna; the Women's League of Voters, and the Jackson Heights Garden Club. Surviving Mrs. Darville are her husband; her parents; three sisters, Mina S. Proper of Summit, N. J., and Mabel and Helen Shepard of North Bloomfield; three brothers, Elston of N. Bloomfield; Leslie of Short Hills, N. J., and Wendell of Lockport; and aunt, Isabel Hunt of North Bloomfield; several nieces and nephews. Servie for Mrs. Darville was held at the Community Church on Monday evening, May 26th, the church of which she and her husband were among the founders."
