ALTA YVONNE GREENHAW JACKSON
Alta Yvonne Jackson, 88, of McAlester, died Saturday, July 19, 2014
at her residence.
Alta was born February 24, 1926 in Mount Judea, Arkansas, the
youngest daughter of William Greenberry and Mattie Mae (Spears)
Greenhaw.
As a child, her family moved to Ashland, Oklahoma where she graduated
from school. After graduation, she married W.J. "Louie" Jackson on
April 8, 1944 in McAlester,Oklahoma
Louie was serving in the United States Navy during World War II at
Long Beach, California, so the family moved to be near him. After he
received his honorable discharge they moved to McAlester.
Alta began her working career in McAlester as a realtor during the
1960's and early 1970's.
She and Louie bought The Hiway Lodge and McHoma Lodge in McAlester.
She continued to operate the hotel and restaurant until 1997 when she
decided to retire. After her retirement, she enjoyed to travel and
spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the North Town Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Jan and Jack Inman of
McAlester;granddaughters and spouses: Lounette Inman and Steve Gragg
of McAlester, Kristi and Alvin Curtis of McAlester, Stacy and Norman
McAlester of McAlester. Also, great-grandchildren: Shelby Davis and
fianc�, Jon Eberle of St. Louis, Missouri; Emma Gragg of Ft. Gibson,
Gunner Tarron of McAlester, Megan McAlester of McAlester,
Sydney Tarron of McAlester,Jake McAlester of McAlester,Judd McAlester
of McAlester; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: W.J. "Louie"
Jackson; and three sisters:Elma Vieux,LaVern Vieux, and
Aileen Greenhaw.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at
Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery,McAlester,Pittsburg county,
Oklahoma,with Oben Weeks officiating.
Service arrangements under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Jackson's grandchildren.

LELAND GREENHAW
Leland Greenhaw, age 64, of Springdale, died Friday, March 14, 1989
at Springdale,Arkansas.
He was born 1Nov1921 at Mount Judea, a son of Elmer and Jennie Duck
Greenhaw. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department.
He was a World War II Veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a
member of the Hickory Flat Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife,Thelma Greenhaw of the home;a son,
David Coy Greenhaw of the home; an uncle, Walter Duck of Harrison
and an aunt, Grace Gilmore, Napa, California.
Funeral was Tuesday, March 28, at Christeson Funeral Home with the
Reverend Jerry Hinshaw and the Reverend Glen Faulkner officiating.
Burial was in Mt.Judea Cemetery under the direction of Christeson
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers included Glen Sutton, Mike Duck, Joel Duck, Jerald Duck,
Darrell Greenhaw and James D Greenhaw.

Jessie Oreta Eddings Greenhaw
Jessie Oreta Eddings Greenhaw was born July 29, 1909 in Mt. Judea,
Arkansas, to Frank Eddings and Caroline (Criner) Eddings.
She received her bachelor's in teaching from East Central University
in Ada, Oklahoma.Jessie taught at the Tailholt and Keys Schools.
Jessie was married to MITCHELL COY GREENHAW (1909-1974)in 1935 in
Coalgate, Oklahoma.
She was a member of the South College Church of Christ and also was
a member of the OEA.
Jessie loved to quilt, go to garage sales, and was known for her
beautiful vegetable gardens.
Jessie was active with the hospital auxiliary for over thirty years.
Mrs Greenhaw departed this life on Sunday, January 11, 2009 in
Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 99 years.
Preceding Jessie in death were her parents, husband Mitchell, three
brothers, Bill Eddings, John Calvin (J.C.) Eddings and
Orville Eddings, and one sister, Alice Eddings.
Survivors include one son, Frank "F.J." Greenhaw, Sr. and wife Carol
of Tahlequah;two sisters, Bethel Lee of Coalgate and Ella Mae Todd of
Ada, Oklahoma; two brothers, Elmo Eddings of Tahlequah and
Bailey Eddings of Coalgate;two grandchildren;ten great grandchildren
and numerous nieces,nephews,cousins and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 15,
2009 at the Tahlequah City Cemetery,Tahlequah,Cherokee County,
Oklahoma Mr. Lloyd Coppedge will preside.
Services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home of
Tahlequah.

Nancy Rosa Greenhaw, born 20 June 1872, died 6 May 1952 and is buried
in the Mt. Judea Cemetery, Newton County, Arkansas.
Rosa Greenhaw Greenhaw was my husband's great aunt.Her children
would be my husband's cousins.
