Senior Citizens Center Nursing Home in Mansfield after a
six-month illness.A retired farmer, Mr. Allen was a member
of the Church of Christ in Ava.
Surviving are his wife, Alice;a daughter, Mrs. Nola McClain,
Twin Falls, Idaho;
five sons: Uba, Twin Falls, Idaho;Carl, Route 3, Ava;
Clyde and Chester, both of Route 1, Ava, and Clell,
Riverbank, Calif.; a step-son, Marion Miller,
Oklahoma City; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Chaney, Springfield;

BERTHA BEDITH BAIRD BROCE
Bedith (Baird) Broce, daughter of Zeb and Jesse Baird, was
born February 24, 1912 in Christian County, Missouri. She
departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the age
of 92.
Bedith married JOHN BROCE February 25, 1934. They recently
celebrated 70 years of marriage. She was a member of
Marionville Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, John; a daughter,
Evelyn Fare and her husband, Raymond, of Aurora; a grandson,
Calvin Fare and his wife, Teena, of Aurora;
great-grandchildren Andrea and James Fare; and great-great
granddaughter, Allison, all of Aurora.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Genobia Gray of
Springfield and Helen Campbell of Ozark, and several nieces
and nephews.
Bedith was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter,
Delores Ann; three brothers, Joe, Oran, and Robert Baird;
and a sister, Mae Kessinger.
Funeral services will be held today, March 6, at 2 p.m. in
Marionville Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mark Lewis
officiating under direction of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.

Obits:John R. Broce, 91, of Marionville died August 5 at
Methodist Manor in Marionvile following a brief illness.
Mr. Broce was born January 13, 1913 in LaJunta, Colorado,
the son of Howard Parmer Broce(1876-1938) and
Callie Hurd Broce(1879-1930) He had been a truck driver,
dairy farmer,and had worked for the Frisco Railroad.
He was a member of the Assembly of God in Marionville.
He was married on February 25, 1934, and his wife,
Bedith Broce, preceded him in death March 4, 2004.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Fare, of Aurora; one
sister, Mabel Baird of Highlandville; three grandchildren,
and one great-grandchild.
His brother was Ernest Broce (1906-1929)
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores; three
brothers, Jessie Broce, William Broce, and Ernest Broce; and
two sisters, Ethel Pressley and Mildred Smith.
Services were 1 p.m. August 7 at the Assembly of God in
Marionville with Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Burial was in
Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora under the direction of

Helen Lucille Campbell, age 88, of Ozark, passed away
Monday, July 26, 2004, in St. John's Hospital. She was born
March 11, 1916, in Ozark, the daughter of Zebedee and
Jessie (Smith) Baird.
On April 15, 1934, she and Blond Campbell were united in
marriage. Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker, and attended
Grace Full Gospel Church in Rogersville.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Blond; a son,
Terry Campbell and wife Susan, Ozark; three grandchildren;
T.J. Campbell, Ozark; Aaron Campbell and his wife, Jill,
Sparta, and Sarah Barton and her husband Ryan, Rogersville;
two great grandchildren, Amber Barton and Carrie Armstrong;
a step-grandson, Page Charles, Ozark; and a sister,
Genobia Gray, Willard. She was preceded in death by her
parents; three brothers, Robert, Oran and Joe Baird; and two
sisters,Mae Kessinger and Bedith Broce. A funeral service
will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, in Adams Funeral Home,
Ozark, with Pastor Darrel Reid and Pastor Hubert Swearengin
officiating.Burial will follow in Pembina Cemetery.

ELLIS BLOND CAMPBELL
Ellis Blond Campbell, age 94, Ozark, passed away on
December 26, 2009 in his home. He was born October 22, 1915
in Christian County, Missouri, the son of Charles Newton and
Lydia (McCarty) Campbell. Blond was a lifelong resident of
Christian County.
On April 15, 1934, he married Helen Baird. They had one son,
Terry Ellis. They were married 70 years before her death in
2004.
Blond worked as a welder and then as a foreman for Ash Grove
Cement, retiring in 1977. He loved horses, hunting and
fishing and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include:his son, Terry Campbell and wife Kimberly,
Ozark; two grandsons, TJ Campbell, Ozark and Aaron Campbell
and wife Jill, Sparta; three great grandchildren, Amber,
Karrie and Cody, and a sister, Charlene Pippin, Rogersville.
In addition to his wife, Blond was preceded in death by his
parents; three brothers, Laymond, Carl and Roy K. and two
sisters, Zella Loveland and Velma Campbell.
Services were held Wednesday, December 30, at Adams Funeral
Home, Ozark, with interment in Pembina Cemetery,
Rogersville,Missouri.

County, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday at his Ozark home after a

He was a native of Bear Creek and of Christian County,
Survivors include his wife, Lena; one son, Herbert, of
Ozark; four daughters:
Mrs. Blond Campbell and Mrs. Henry Kensinger, both of Ozark
Mrs. John Bruce of Marionville, and Mrs. Claude Gray, of
Springfield; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and
one great-great grandchild.
A member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. Mr. Baird owned and
operated fruit and vegetables markets in Springfield and
Ozark.
Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Friday in the Adams Chapel
in Ozark with the Rev. Clifford Day officiating. Burial will
be in Pembina Cemetery near Ozark.

Wilda Bell Truitt,72,of Springfield, Mo. passed away
Wednesday September 2, 2009 at the Marshfield Care Center in
Marshfield, Missouri. Wilda was born on April 17, 1937 in
Rogersville, Mo. to Efton and Bertha "Tella" Smith. She was
a member of the Rogersville First Baptist Church in
Rogersville and a graduate of the Rogersville High School.
Wilda was married to James Edward Truitt and he preceded her
in death.
Wilda worked for Consumers Bakery in Springfield for many
years.
Surviving are four sons: James E. Truitt Jr. and wife Peggy
of Longview, TX.;Allan Truitt and wife Susie of Chestnut
Ridge, Mo.; Dale Truitt of Springfield and Sam Truitt and
wife Penny of Springfield;one daughter Shelly Rouse and
husband Les of Conway, Mo.;one brother Bob Smith of
Springfield, Mo.; nephew Dwayne "Bucky" Smith of Strafford
who was raised like a brother with Wilda; 12 grandchildren:
Karey Truitt, Patrick and Jeremy Truitt. Bradley and
Dakota Truitt, Travis Schroeder, Donnie Yates, Tiffany,
Samantha, Cristina, Holly and Efton Truitt; 11 great
grandchildren;several cousins, nieces and nephews.
