LAWDEN L "BILL"FLOOD OBITS:
He served his country in the United States Army from 1941 to 1945 during WWII and the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a staff sergeant and received many medals including the
American Defense Service medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal
After returning home on leave from the military,
Bill married SUSIE MILDRED HENDERSON(1919-2012) on May 22, 1942,
Bristow, Oklahoma.

They had two children, Donna Sue and Dusty Flood.
He retired from W.C. Norris as a shipping and receiving supervisor
He was a faithful member of the Bristow Free Will Baptist Church
His hobbies were quail and squirrel hunting, basketball, and baseball
He coached little league baseball for over 20 years
Even after he was up in years and wasn't coaching anymore he
volunteered his baseball field year after year to a number of teams
so they would have a place to practice.
He also was the cook for the Free Will Baptist prayer breakfast for
24 years.
Bill was also known to whistle a mighty pretty tune.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Flood of the home;
daughter Donna Sue Flood Byrne Harjo and husband Larry of Bristow;
son Dusty Flood and wife Rhonda of Bristow; brother Carl Flood of
Missoula,Montana; sisters Ruby Polansky and Ethel Martinson, both of
Reno Nevada;grandchildren Todd Byrne, Nicholas Flood, Brandon Flood,
and Mallory Floodl and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers J.C. Flood,
Walter Flood, and Hoyel Flood; and sister Inez Barrow.
