After I first posted this story, found more information.
Adding information to my stories is an never ending job, as there
is always more information to add, so one must come back to visit
often to see corrections and additons.

Some family members spell the last name FLOOD, while others
spell it FLUD;but they all descend from John and Rebecca Mayo?
FLOOD. John and Rebecca FLOOD had known children:
Nathan FLOOD, John L FLUD, ++James FLUD,David Flood,
Elizabeth FLOOD JONES and an unknown daughter.
The children were supposedly born in North Carolina in unknown
county, but perhaps Pitt County,North Carolina?
One child claims they were born in Carolinas and another Tennessee

The FLOOD family was first found in St.Francois County, Missouri
in 1830's. They moved to Arkansas to what was then Carroll County,
Arkansas in about 1836 to White Township.
James Columbus FLUD descends from the ++JAMES FLUD side.

JAMES COLUMBUS FLUD was the son of NATHANIEL HARVEY FLUD and
LOUIZA CATHERINE SHATSWELL.
James Columbus FLUD was born 10 Sept 1879 in Newton County,Arkansas.
He married PERMELIA ANGELINE TENNISON on 27 Jan 1898 in
Newton County, Arkansas by W.B.NICHOLS, J.P.

Permelia Angeline TENNISON was the daughter of William G TENNISON
and AMANDA"Mandy"RICKETTS. William G TENNISON was from the
John TENNISON and Rebecca Jane GILMORE family.
William G TENNISON had first married SARAH SMITH ca 1866 in Newton
County, Arkansas and they had two known children:
1.Rebecca Jane TENNISON O'NEAL,

2.GWIN MONROE TENNISON.
Sarah Smith was daughter of Austin Smith and Rachel Whiteley
After SARAH SMITH TENNISON died, William married AMANDA RICKETTS in
1877,Newton County,Arkansas
Permelia Angeline Tennison was born in 1879 in Newton County, Arkansas.

Evelyn Flood's children are related to the FLUDS and TENNISONS
this way through William S Ricketts (Mandy's brother) who married
Sarah SMITH (daughter of Jeremiah and Margaret ARMSTRONG-BIRD SMITH).
William S and Sarah Smith RICKETTS were the parents of
Hester Hosannie RICKETTS who married Simon David FLUD of the
George W "Uncle Wash" 1843 and Rachel Caroline HARRIS FLOOD family.
Hester and Simon Flud's son, Lee Chester FLOOD, was this author's
father-in-law. Lee Chester Flood's son was Kenneth FLOOD.
(Evelyn Flood's husband) who died in 1980.

This is why this author has researched so many families---nearly all
Newton County, Arkansas older families are related in some way to
the FLOOD families.

i:FLOYD MITCHELL FLUD born 29 Nov 1898 in Newton County, Arkansas.
He married FLOA DONNA RUSSELL and their children were:
1)Verda Fae FLUD BREEDLOVE(Mrs. C.L.) born 9 Feb 1926.
In 1988 she lived at 3127 Monticello, Oakland,California 94169.

2)James David FLUD born 5 Nov 1927; died 6 Sept 1950 in Korean War.

Killed in Action
Died September 5, 1950 in Korea
Private Flud was a member of the 23rd Infantry Regiment,
2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the
enemy in South Korea on September 5, 1950.
Private Flud was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's
Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal,
the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

3) Anna Louise FLUD born 19 Nov 1930

4)Donald Lee FLUD, born 23 Dec 1934.

Floyd Mitchell FLUD died on 18 March 1963 at Chico, California.
Nothing further known of this family.

ii:BERTIE LEE FLUD born 7 Jan 1901 in Newton Co.AR.
Bertie Lee Flud Married :
(1 ) Marion BACCUS ca 1919, place unknown.
There was a Louis Bacchus family living in Newton County in 1900
in Marble City Township. Could Marion Baccus be from this family?
One son from this marriage:
Floyd Ardel BACCUS born ca 1920, who died in 1986 in Tulsa,
Oklahoma.
It is reported that Marion Baccus did go to prison.
Nothing further known except that, he may be buried in Carnegie,
Oklahoma.
Bertie Lee Flud Baccus married:
(2)SIMON DAVID FARMER on 28 Nov 1920 in Newton County, Arkansas.
They apparently divorced. No children from this marriage.
Simon Farmer had first married MINNIE BAUCOM.
He married the third time to MATILDA CAROLINE SMITH
Bertie Lee Flud Baccus Farmer married:
(3) HEROD BALCH date unknown.
Herod Balch is buried at Carnegie,OK
BERTIE LEE FLUD BALCH died on 15 May 1964 at Carnegie,Oklahoma
with burial there.

iii:ERNEST LESTER FLUD born 22 Sept 1904 Newton County, Arkansas
married :
(1)IDA SMITH
(2)EMMA (maiden name unknown).
Ernest and Emma Flud's children were:
1) ERNIE LEE FLUD who lived at Chico,CA.
2) LOIS JEAN FLUD.
Ernest Lester FLUD died on 10 Sept 1963, about l-l/2 hours
after hearing of the death of his mother Permelia Angeline
TENNISON FLUD.

While on a deer hunting trip in Northern California in 1978, I
found an ERNIE FLUD living on 320 Shasta Avenue, Hamilton City,
California in the Chico, California phone book (826-3743)

iv:NELLIE MAY FLUD born 22 Mar 1907 in Newton County, Arkansas.
She married :
(1)IVES ADAMS at Lawton, Oklahoma and
(2)LES BLAYLOCK
Nellie�s children were
1)) Hazel ADAMS COLLIS, lived Lovington, New Mexico.

2)Opal Mae ADAMS GLOVER,died and buried at Elgin,OK.

3)Dessie Fay ADAMS died at 8 months,buried in Western
Carter County, Oklahoma.

4)Dorothy Lee ADAMS TURNBULL. Whereabouts unknown,
but the last known place was Pennsylvania.

NELLIE MAY FLUD ADAMS BLAYLOCK died 8 Nov 1987,
place unknown.

(v):WILLIAM HARVEY FLUD born 9 Jan 1909 in Newton County,
Arkansas.
He married:
(1) BERNICE SINGLETON
William and Bernice Flud's children were:
1)Beatrice FLUD
2) Janet Ruth FLUD
3) Billy FLUD
4) Mildred Ann FLUD
5)Wilma FLUD
all whereabouts unknown in 1988.

By wife (2) HELEN CAMPBELL (Delaware Indian) they had:
6)Teresa FLUD
7)Allen FLUD.
Have more information on this family which I will add later.
Family members have sent me more information.
William Harvey FLUD was in a Carnegie,Oklahoma nursing home as
a stroke patient in August 1988.

(vi):EFFIE JEWEL FLUD, born 31 March 1911,married:
(1)Dewey BOHANNON.
(2)James FRAME (buried Carnegie,Oklahoma)
Children :
(1)Oleta BOHANNON SPELLINGS and
(2)Roy Lee BOHANNON who lived around Sedan ,Kansas in 1988.
Effie lived at Sedan, Kansas in 1988.

(vii):RAY HON FLUD born 8 April 1915,
married LEONA (maiden name unknown).
Had one son, name unknown.
Ray Hon died in California about 1985

(viii):ELTA FAY FLUD born 14 Oct 1917 married
Claude ROGERS on 24 September 1934.
Two children:
(1) Mildred Ruth ROGERS married Johnnie LYNCH on 6 Aug 1955.
They have two daughters:
(i) Sondra LYNCH who married Bill REEDY,
Chief of Police of Carnegie, Oklahoma.
(ii)Sherri LYNCH married Rhett MORGAN ;were
expecting their first child on 3 Oct 1988.

(2)J.R. ROGERS married Roma Lee WHITE.
In 1988 they lived in Oklahoma City,Oklahoma
Children:
(i) Kent ROGERS who married Teresa (mnu)
and they had three sons;
(1)Nathan ROGERS
(2)Jonathan ROGERS and
(3) Christopher ROGERS, all
living in Dallas,Texas area in 1988.

ELTA FAY FLUD ROGERS lived at Rt. 2, Box 40, Carnegie,OK 73015 in 1988.

The family drifted apart early--the 8 children were never together
at one time.
Floyd had gone to California before Elta was born.
Some of the brothers and sisters were apart more than 20 years.

JAMES COLUMBUS FLUD died 26 March 1964 in Carnegie,Oklahoma.
PERMELIA ANGELINE TENNISON FLUD died 10 Sept 1963 at Carnegie,
Oklahoma. Both are buried in the Carnegie Cemetery there.

Elta FLUD ROGERS supplied me with much of this information.
Have more detailed information as to dates, etc.,which I will
share with FLUD researchers.

Other sources were Newton County,Arkansas marriage, cemetery,
and census records in author's possession.
This author has compiled many, many family group sheets on over
800 different families from the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and
Missouri areas. Have a large private library.
Have spent many years collecting my researched information.
