"old John" Nichols family in 1850 in Franklin County, Arkansas.
She was listed last after his children's names

We do not know who her parents were. Was she a DAVIS?
Perhaps she had married a NICHOLS who died about time of Civil War?
It is said she "sowed some wild oats" when a young woman.

Sarah Emeline was the mother of three known children:
i: Harmon Marion Nichols, born 30 April 1860
He married SARAH HEFLEY on 24 August 1882 in Newton County, Arkansas
It was at the "Infare" Wedding Celebration of this wedding that the
Smith-Nichols feud started.
ii: Marilla Francis Nichols, born 8 Dec 1861
She married JOHN MARION DOTSON on 14 August 1879 in Newton County,
Arkansas.
iii: John "Boozier" Nichols, born ca 1867
John "Boozier" Nichols died between 1880 and 1900.

census in White Township, Visit 103, as Emeline Gertay?, age 46, widow
