Elizabeth is known only from a burial record, 20 May 1821, which notes her as an “infant” of “Tresco”. Although the parents were not recorded in the burial register a review of the Deason families on Tresco at that time makes it unlikely for Elizabeth to be the child of any other family. In addition, naming Elizabeth as the first child follows tradition: first born son named after the father; first born daughter named after the mother; second born son named after the paternal grandfather; and second born daughter named after the maternal grandmother.3
