  This indenture made this 12 day of Oct.,A.D. 1910 between Zack Foust and wife Elizabeth Foust of Carter County in the State of Tennessee of the first part and W.L. Girtman and wife Martha Girtman of Carter Co.,Tennessee of the second part.Witnesseth,that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $600 Six Hundred Dollars;five hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said parties of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged The parties of the (1st) first part returns a specific lien on this tract of land to secure the payment of the remainder $100---------------------------------------------------- part have this day executed their note of lien date the parties of the first part have granted,bargained,sold and conveyed and do hereby grant,bargain,sell and convey unto the said parties of the second part,the following described premises,to wit,situated in District No.5,beginning at a stone corner between Boring and C.C.Taylor and W.J.Smalling,Thence with the line of Taylor and Smalling 312 feet to a stake on said line,thence a South East course 84 feet to a stone planted on or near the line of C.C.Taylor and W.J.Smalling.Then a South West course 750 feet to a stone on the Right of Way of the E.T. and W.N.R.R. Thence West 150 feet to a stone near the county road,Thence North 143 feet to a stone near the County Road,Thence 231 feet to a corner at the County Road near Moore.Thence a North East course 741 feet to the beginning containing by estimation 8 acres be the same more or less with the hereditaments and appurtenances thereto appertaining,hereby releasing all claims to Homestead and Dower therein.To have and to hold the said premises to the said parties of the second part,their heirs and assignees forever.And the said parties of the first part,for them and for their heirs,executors and administrators,do hereby covenant with the said parties of the second part,their heirs and assigns,that they are lawfully seized in fee simple of the premises above conveyed and have full power,authority and right to convey the same,that same premises are free from all encumberances and that they will forever warrant and defend the said premises and the title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hand,and affixed their seal.The day and year first above written.

Personally appeared before me J.T.Banner,A Notary Public of said county,the within named bargainors,Zack Foust and wife Elizabeth Foust,with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained.And Elizabeth Foust wife of Zack Foust,having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband,the said Elizabeth Foust acknowledged the execution of the said Deed to have been done by her freely,voluntarily and understandingly ,without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.Witness my hand and official seal of office,this 20 day of Oct.,1910
