Bartholomew Gartman received payment for 15 head cattle for militia
use in 1778.He also received an indent(#3285) for 11 pounds sterling money
for provisions provided for use of the militia.-dated July 12,1786.He served
as a Horseman from March 1,1780 to May 20,1780 in Capt.Leitners Co.-certified
by Major John? Adam Furmer?Also,42 days duty as Lt. of Horse from
Aug.5,1780 to Oct. 1,1781in Capt.Turners Co.Also,173 days done as Captain
from Oct.3,1781 to Aug.1782 in Col Habers? Regt.

Bartholomew Gartman Jr.-dated June 12,1783.Had a claim for six head
of cattle used by the militia Oct.6,1781 and 100 wt. of flour taken on
April 3,1782.Both valued at 11 pounds.He (Jr.) was in the SC Militia in
Capt.Waters regiment as a Sgt. after the fall of Charleston.He received
an indent(#2529) for 20 pounds,seventeen shillings,and 10 pence farthing.-dated
April 27,1786
There was a Bartholomew Gartman who received pay for 200 days service
as Lt. of foot in Capt. Jacob Folmers Co,Col.Waters Regt. from Oct.10,1781
to Aug.12,1782.

From accounts audited file for Revolutionary War Claims.
Capt.Thomas Shelby left an indent with Daniel Gartman for taking his
Brown Mare for Military use June 20.?,1781-later the mare was appraised
at 75 pounds.
He also lost to military use and filed a claim for 250 wt. of flour
to Capt.Edward Kelley March 10,1782,4 bushels of oats by John English,5
bushels of corn by John Malone-filed the claim on June 11?,1783-signed
his name Dan'l Gartman

Gentlemen Be pleased to deliver to the Bearer Bartholomew Gartman an
intent to the amount of my account in your office with the Interest due
on the same

George Gartman received 37 pounds,10 shillings sterling for 150 days
in the militia as Lieutenant in 1781.-issued 10 May,1785.
He swore to the above service on May 10,1784 and Godfrey Dreher certified
that he had performed the service.
He also received 3 pounds 10 shillings for a rifle gun lost in actual
service.-dated April 1,1783.
He also received an indent for 192 weight of Flour used by the Militia-dated
April 12,1782.For which he received 1 pound,16 shillings.
He served from May 31 to Oct.30,1781 in Capt.Drehers? company.
Barbara Gartman(his wife) signed over her right to an indent for George
to Nathan? Brown on Sept.1,1791.Which might mean George had died by then.
She also signed the following:
Received 17th Feb.,1787 full satisfaction for the within named
indent No.389 for my husband George Gartman.
Also:Received full satisfaction for the within in an indent No.126
for my husband George Gartman-no date.
