Rem'd to Braintree, Vt., in the fall of 1793, where he died. He was a man
of more than ordinary abilities and was chosen seventeen times to the
Vermont Legislature. (Derby, p. 38)

Occupation: Farmer. (Derby, p. 38)

He settled in Braintree in the fall of 1793, on the farm owned by James
P. Cleveland, Jr. He was a bright, enterprising man, owning a saw mill in
addition to his farm, was much respected, was benevolent and never a
user of spirits or tobacco in any form, his descendants being equally
temparate. He was much in office and was sent thirteen times to the
legislature. (Bass, pp. 62-63)
