Aged 96 at the time of his death. (Royalston, Mass. VRs, (Search &
ReSearch CD), p. 121)

He rem'd to Royalston, prior to 1770, while then a wilderness, and
settled upon a tract of land about one and a half miles distant N.W. from
the centre of the town. The place was first settled in 1754, and named
for Col. Isaac Royall, one of its proprietors. There being no roads in the
vicinity of Mr. Hutchinson's settlement, one was laid out by the
Selectmen, in 1770, leading by the east side of his house. He was a
carpenter as well as a farmer, and assisted in building the first two
meeting houses in town. He was a man of industrious habits, kind,
benevolent and useful, and often chosen to fill important town offices,
and was ever ready to assist in forwarding the interests and settlement
of the town. (Derby, p. 26)
