Jacob Heim

     Jacob Heim was born on 27 July 1773 at Möhringen, Oberamt Stuttgart, Neckarkreis, Württemberg.¹ He was baptized, at age 1 day, on Wednesday, 28 July 1773 at Möhringen, Oberamt Stuttgart, Neckarkreis, Württemberg.² He was the son of Johannes Jakob Heim and Juliana Reutter. Jacob Heim married, at age 23, Christina Gohl, age 22 on Tuesday, 15 November 1796 at Möhringen, Oberamt Stuttgart, Neckarkreis, Württemberg.³ Jacob Heim died on 7 June 1849 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 75 years, 10 months and 11 days.² He was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
     He was Weaver. He This family is listed as 'Family L' on the Blooming Grove, Stammbaum Wäldchen (Family Tree Little Woods) that was originally printed about 1860 - 1862. The one used for this record is currently in the possession of Frederick and Zella Stablerrrr. The Blooming Grove Historical Socitey also has one on display at their musuem. The beginning reads, 'With approximately 20 family trees of families who largely live in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania and who still have living parents at the turn of the century, mostly from Mühringen and Eßlingen in Würtemberg, and who have moved here.'.'.'.'

Jacob Heim was a native of Wuerttemberg, Germany, where he was born about 1786. He grew to manhood in his native land, and married a Miss Gohl, who died on the voyage to America. In 1817 he immigrated to the United States and landed at Philadelphia on the 4th of July. Mr. Heim was accompanied by his father-in-law, and they came directly from Philadelphia to Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, traveling most of the distance on foot. They entered 106 acres of land which they cleared and improved. Mr. Heim lived upon this farm up to within a few years of his death, and then made his home with his daughter Margaret the balance of his days. He was the father of five children. Mr. Heim was a Dunkard in religious faith, and in politics a Democrat. He emigrated on 19 March 1817 at the age of 43.
