     Jacob Jacobus was born in October 1856 at Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Phillip Jacobus and Agnes Sauter.1,2 Jacob Jacobus has also been reported to have been born October 1855. He first married Mary [—?—] circa 1875.1,2 Jacob Jacobus married a second time Elizabeth [—?—] in 1897.1,2
     The following article about Jacob was published on 17 January 1870 in the The Greenfield Gazette and Courier, printed in Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. This article stated:

     Jerry Sullivan, Patrick Donovan, William Kelleher, Herbert Bowers, James Penney, Jacob Jacobus, William Reuth, Michael Cavanagh and Daniel Finn were tried by A. Brainard, Esq. on Sat. for interrupting and disturbing the village Grammar school, by making noises about the schoolhouse, for snow balling the younger students, holding the doors and making themselves general nuisances. They pled guilty, & the case was continued for 3 weeks & sentence suspended. J. P. Felton gave the sum of $50 each for surety.1 He appeared on the census of 20 July 1870 in the household of Phillip Jacobus and Agnes Sauter at Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. Jacob Jacobus and Mary [—?—] appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 at Montague, Franklin County, Massachusetts. Jacob Jacobus and Elizabeth [—?—] appeared on the census of 6 June 1900 at Montague, Precint 1, Franklin County, Massachusetts.
