     Samuel H. Cook was born on 29 September 1917 at Bucyrus, Crawford County, Ohio.1 He was the son of Wesley Samuel Cook and Elizabeth Floy Kelly.1 Samuel H. Cook married, at age 24, Christine Sherer on Sunday, 21 December 1941. Samuel H. Cook died on 11 May 2010 at age 92 years, 7 months and 12 days. He was buried on 15 May 2010 in the Salem Cemetery, located in North Robinson, Crawford County, Ohio.
     He graduated in 1935 from North Robinson High School, located in North Robinson, Crawford County, Ohio. He graduated in 1939 from Ashland University, located in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. His obituary was published sometime in May 2010 in the local paper, printed in Bucyrus, Crawford County, Ohio. His obituary stated:

     Samuel Harvey Cook, 92 of Crestline, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 holding his wife's hand and surrounded by his family. He was born September 29, 1917 in Bucyrus, OH to the late Wesley and Bessie Kelly Cook.

     Samuel married his childhood sweetheart Christine Sherer on December 21, 1941 and she survives him along with five children, thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a sister Marvel Baehr of Olmsted Falls, OH.

     He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert, Carson, Richard, Emery and granddaughter Krista Jill Cook.

     Samuel was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Bucyrus and graduated from North Robinson High School in 1935 and Ashland University in 1939. He was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran and served in the Philippines.

     Samuel was a progressive Crawford County farmer from 1948 until he retired. He enjoyed his retirement years on Crestline Road with his wife gardening, hosting family reunions, working in his shop, reading, compiling family history, being outdoors and enjoying visits from friends and family.

     Along with successful farming he had many business interests including Cook Business Services from 1981 to 1999. During Samuel's career he taught school at North Robinson, was an account supervisor with the Ohio Farm Bureau, Buckeye Farm Records and Production Credit Association and was a bookkeeper for D. Picking & Co. in Bucyrus.

     In addition to his wife of nearly 67 years, Samuel is survived by his children Craig and Belinda Cook, Tim and Lynn Cook, Joyce and Robert Dorsey, Bruce and Debra Cook, Tadd and Cathy Cook; thirteen grandchildren, April and Darrin Hetrick, Michelle and Joseph Persing, Mary Ann and Jared Martin, Aaron Cook, Sarah Cook, Nathaniel Cook, Brittany Dorsey, Jonathan Dorsey, Patrick Dorsey, Laura Cook, Kelly and Kasey Barnett, Chad and Kristen Cook and Dawn Cook; seven great grandchildren, Kayla Hetrick, Honor, Mercy, Patience and Joseph Nobel Persing, Anna Mae and Nathan Cook.

     Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 14 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Don L. Ebert, Jr. officiating and burial will follow at Salem Cemetery where Military Rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 181.

     Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
