     Daniel Leroy Stabler was born on 6 July 1949 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of Frederick Ulmer Stabler and Zella Elvira Lovell.1,2 Daniel Leroy Stabler married, at age 21, Linell Ann Reese, daughter of Martin Joseph Reese and Gloria Elizabeth Mowery, on Saturday, 19 June 1971 at Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.1,2 Daniel Leroy Stabler died on 26 March 2018 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 68 years, 8 months and 20 days.2
     Owner of Park Pizza for 8 years, purchased Smith Grill Company in 1990. He and his family are active at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsport. He is politically a Republican.

GOSPEL MUSIC FESTIVAL SET TODAY

A Gospel Music Festival will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. today in the band shell at Brandon Park.

Brenda Wagner, of Allenwood, will perform, along with groups from the Williamsport area, including the Agape Singers, composed of Don and Lou Anne Bastian and Dan and Linell Stabler, all of Quiggleville; a children's chorus and the Gloryland Band from Central Baptist Church, directed by Beccie Lusk, and 'Love,' made up of Henry and Rebekah Ward Mitchell, of Harrisburg, and Jim and Michelle Ward, of Milton.

'Malachi,' and area rock group specializing in Christian music, will perform. It includes Steve Vermilya on vocals and keyboard; Suzanne Vermilya, vocals; Bret Alexander, lead guitar; Lynne Whelden, bass, and Diane McCracken, drums.

The event is sponsored by the Williamsport Recreation Commission.
His obituary was published on 29 March 2018 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Daniel L. Stabler, 68, of Cogan Station, died Monday, March 26, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna-Williamsport.

Born July 6, 1949, in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Frederick U. and Zella L. (Lovell) Stabler.

He was a 1967 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Williamsport Area Community College in 1969.

Dan began working as an office repair tech from 1969-1979. He then worked for Lonza Corp and Huffman’s Equipment prior to becoming the owner / operator of Park Pizza from 1982-1990 and of the R.E. Smith Co from 1989-2014. After selling the R.E. Smith Co, Dan worked for Pine Street UM Church. He was employed by Susquehanna Trailways, the American Rescue Workers, and continued to work for R.E. Smith Co until his passing.

Dan was an active member of the choir and singer on the worship teams at Faith Wesleyan Church in Williamsport, and an avid coffee drinker / conversationalist Sundays at the church cafe.

Dan was an accomplished hunter, and a member of Poor Shot Hunting Club. He enjoyed gardening, fixing any and everything, and a good laugh above all. He was quick witted and never lacked for a sarcastic comment, question or funny story. He loved life and lived his accordingly.

Surviving are his wife, Linell A. (Reese) Stabler whom he married June 19, 1971; two children, Kerri J. Girton (Todd), of Williamsport, and Kurtlan D. Stabler (Lyndsay), of Salladasburg; five grandchildren, Ava and Elaina Girton, Harper, Riley and Quinn Stabler; a sister, Nancy Sholder (Leonard), of Lebanon, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 5 at Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker St., Williamsport. A memorial celebration service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Faith Wesleyan Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dan’s name may be made to ACES North America, 1307 Park Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, to aid in education projects in the Dominican Republic.
