     LeRoy E. Simpson was born on 21 August 1927 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Clarence Simpson and Mildred Throne.1 LeRoy E. Simpson married Lillian S. Roller, daughter of Clarence Wesley Roller and Mabel F. Zeifle, circa 1953.1 LeRoy E. Simpson died on 16 November 2009 at Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 82 years, 2 months and 26 days.1 He was buried on 18 November 2009 in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, located in Montgomery, Clinton Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Paul Cope.1
     LeRoy E. Simpson also went by the name of Roy.1 He graduated in 1945 from South Williamsport High School, located in South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was in military service with the United States Navy between 1945 and 1946. His obituary was published on 17 November 2009 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     LeRoy E. "Roy" Simpson, 82, a resident of the Williamsport Home, Ravine Road for the past three years and former resident of South Williamsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.

     Born Aug. 21, 1927 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mildred Throne Simpson and husband to Lillian Roller Simpson.

     He was a 1945 graduate of South Williamsport High School and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. Roy retired in 1989 as a plant manager from the former Stroehmann Brothers Bakery where he worked for 35 years. He was a life member of the Williamsport Kiwanis Club, a Fellow Kiwanian of the year, and a recipient of the Hickson Award. For many years Roy served as chairman of the Kiwanis annual golf tournament, which later was named the LeRoy E. Simpson Golf Tournament in his honor. Over the years Roy served as a member of the Williamsport Recreation Authority, the Williamsport Shrine Club, the Williamsport Area Management Club, the South Williamsport Area School Board and as mayor of DuBoistown. He was an active member of the South Williamsport United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School, was a lay leader, and served on numerous committees over the years.

     Roy loved spending time with his family, golfing, and during his 30 years living in DuBoistown, he enjoyed decorating for "Candy Cane Lane."

     Surviving in addition to his wife, Lillian of 58 years are his three daughters, Diane (Paul) Anderson of Williamsport, LuAnn (George) Berninger of Nisbet, Debbie Vaughn (Jim Latini) of Cogan Station; a son Joseph (Di) Simpson of Williamsport; 10 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence "Junie" Simpson of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Williams and a brother, Dunbar Simpson.

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, with the Rev. Paul Cope, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park Montgomery, with military honors. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sanders.

     The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Roy's name be made to the Williamsport Kiwanis Foundation c/o Russ Lentz, Sec. 1517 Hidden Valley Drive Montoursville, PA 17754, or the Alzheimer's Association 57 N. Franklin St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.1
