Johann Michael Stäbler

     Johann Michael Stäbler was born on 8 January 1770 at Leinfelden, Oberamt Esslingen, Neckarkreis, Württemberg.1 He was the son of Johann Georg Stäbler and Anna Barbara Stierlin. Johann Michael Stäbler married, at age 25, Anna Katharina Heimerdinger, age 23, daughter of Johann George Heimerdinger and Anna Barbara Auch, on Wednesday, 26 August 1795 at Leinfelden, Oberamt Esslingen, Neckarkreis, Württemberg. Johann Michael Stäbler died on 28 April 1831 at age 61 years, 3 months and 20 days.1 He was buried in the Kurtz Family Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
     He Records indicate this family came to the America in 1816, initially taking up residence on land at Job's Run, near Salladasburg, Lycoming County, PA. All of the children were born in Leinfelden, Germany. The U.S. Census for 1820 lists a Michael Staëbler and family living in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, PA. The U.S. Census for 1830 also lists a Michael Staëbler and family living in Lycoming County, PA. At least some parts of this family settled in the area known as 'Blooming Grove', just NW of Williamsport, PA.
