Zella Elvira Lovell1,2

     Zella Elvira Lovell was born on 18 February 1916 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of David Watson Lovell and Mary Elizabeth Alexander.1 Zella Elvira Lovell married, at age 24, Frederick Ulmer Stabler, age 32, son of Pierce Albert Stabler and Mary Elizabeth Ulmer, on Wednesday, 12 June 1940 at Saint John's Chapel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 Zella Elvira Lovell died on 13 October 2009 at Sycamore Manor, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 93 years, 7 months and 25 days.1 She was buried on 17 October 2009 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Norman E. Huff and Reverend Timothy K. Hartzell.1
     Zella enjoys cooking, sewing and quilting. She is also active at Salladasburg United Methodist Church and has served on several committees and been a Sunday School Teacher. She is Republican in politics. Zella Elvira Lovell was House Keeper - Rev. Rittenhouse in 1935. She was Permars Variety Store in 1936. She was Grocery Store - American Store in 1936. She was Store Clerk - Mr. Harvey - Apartment House in 1938. She was keeping house and farming between 1940 and 1968. She and Frederick Ulmer Stabler lived at RD #3, Box 156 (Jobs Run Road), Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, between 1940 and 2000. As of 2003, Zella Elvira Lovell and Frederick Ulmer Stabler lived at 360 Girio Terrace, Apt. #1, Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She was widowed at age 89 by the death of Frederick on 15 August 2005.3,4,1 As of between November 2006 and October 2009, Zella Elvira Lovell lived at Presbyterian Home at Williamsport, 810 Louisa Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Her obituary was published on 15 October 2009 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Zella E. (Lovell) Stabler, 93, formerly of Salladasburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Sycamore Manor.

     Born Feb. 18, 1916 in Anthony Township, she was a daughter of David Watson and Mary Elizabeth (Alexander) Lovell. She was a lifelong resident of Lycoming County and a descendent of several of the county's pioneer settlers.

     She had primarily worked on the family dairy farm, on Job's Run Road in Anthony Twp. with her husband Fred Stabler, until their retirement in 1969. She also had worked at various employers throughout her life, including; Permar's Variety Store, Harvey's Dry Goods, American Rescue Workers, and Rea & Derick Drug Store.

     She was a member of the Third St. United Methodist Church, and a former member of St. John's Chapel and Salladasburg United Methodist Churches, where she served on several committees and had been a Sunday School Teacher. Zella was active in the Senior Citizens group in Salladasburg, the Pine Run Grange, and had been a volunteer at Williamsport Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting, making many quilts for her grandchildren.

     Surviving are a daughter Nancy E. (Leonard) Sholder of Lebanon, Ohio and a son Daniel L. (Linell) Stabler of Cogan Station; five grandchildren, Kevin (Loa), Kent and Timothy (Teri) Sholder, Kerri (Todd) Girton, and Kurt Stabler; four great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren.

     She was predeceased by her husband Frederick U. Stabler (2005) and a son George William Stabler (1945) and four siblings, Inez Clark, Ellis, Donald, and Paul Lovell.

     Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker St. Williamsport, with the Rev. Timothy K. Hartzell and Rev. Norman E. Huff co-officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to The American Rescue Workers, 643 Elmira St. Williamsport, or ACES (Advancing Communities by Education and Serving), 613 Cemetery St. Williamsport, PA 17701.1
