This Old Maple on Sunset Trail looks just as impressive in Black & White.

Sunset Trail passes thru one of the few open areas, where the Frog Pond provides water for our wildlife.

In the spring the Wild Leeks and Trilliums emerge near Fern Hill Trail

and we see where the Pilated Woodpecker has been searching for insects in a dead tree.

Deep snow makes the trails hard to hike even on snowshoes

but the view from our house on a sunny morning helps make up for the long winter months.

In the spring many interesting stumps and rocks can be seen

that later are hidden by the undergrowth and shrubs that will soon leaf out.

Some Beach leaves remain on the tree throughout the winter

and provide a reminder of what is to come when lit by the spring sunlight.
