The following is one possible interpretation of some early parish
records and is unproven, it is supposition based upon name of parents, dates
and locations. I have ignored the different spellings (Rawles, Rawlson,
Rawleson etc) as I believe at this point that this is for the most part simply
the manner in which offspring were referred to at that time. i.e. Verbal -
Henry, Thomas Rawles Son written as Henry Rawlson. This may or may not be the
case on this occasion they may in fact be separate families with the same
forenames for both husband and wives. If you have any information that can
prove or disprove this I would like to hear from you at my

As all these villages with the exception of Corfe Castle are within walking distance and there is at least some evidence of the families using different churches during the next generation these grouping are not necessarily correct, if one groups them by surname spelling a totally different grouping emerges!
