researching: Coppock

I am looking for information on my third great grandma. Her name was Mary Coppock and she was born in the early 1800's. She married Robert Brodrick and had at least on child Cynthia Ann Brodrick. To the best of my knowledge Mary was born in Ohio In what I think Miami county other than that I do not know much else I have tried unsucessfully to find them in Censuses after 1840 they just seemed to have disapaered. They move to Indiana sometime before or during the 1840's because Cynthia was born there I have not been able to tie Mary into any other Coppock families, so if anybody can help please do.:-)

researching: Carey, Knight, Done, Ballard, Beeson, Elmore, McNees/McNeese, Beemon,

Hello Cousins; I'm trying to establish a link between The McNeese family and the Beeson Family and the Carey family. This link would have taken place around 1835 to 1855. Most likely in and around Indiana, mabey Ohio, with a little sprinkling of Iowa thrown in just to confuse you. This may get a little long, so please bear with me. Per my records: John Ballard Carey b. 6/23/1828 (son of Thomas Carey and Rhoda Ballard) married Sarah Isabel McNeese b. 6/1/1838 (daughter of John McNeese and Lydia Beeson) on 10/09/1853. They were married in Indiana, with first child born in Iowa (per 1960 Census) I have an old penciled note on some family history items, that say that Lydia Beeson was sister of Amaziah Beeson (I have no idea who Amaziah Beeson is.) While doing research of Census information - 1850 Salem Township, Henry Co. Iowa -, I found that John McNeese had died and that his wife, Lydia Beeson had remarried one Isaac Glover. (Lydia's children by John are listed with the McNeese Surname, but under the Isaac Glover as head of household. In addition, daughter Sarah McNeese shows property valued at $400 - inheritance perhaps???) I know that this daughter, Sarah McNeese is the Sarah McNeese that Married John Ballard Carey in 1853. The age listed on the 185 Census for Lydia Beeson Glover would have put the birth year at about 1813. Here's where the fun part comes in. (you knew there had to be a catch, didn't you) I came across a book at my local library, on the Beeson Family. I traces it's roots back to 1500's in England and the first American Beeson in 1682. The book references a "Lydia Beeson b. 03/20/1813 married Igal W. (Jacob) McNeese in Randolph Co., Indiana, on 9/13/1836". In addition, it lists a second marriage to ______ Glover, date unknown. The birthyears, and the coincidence of the "Glover" name is too much. 1. Is the name "John McNeese" on my family documents incorrect? 2. Perhaps Igal (or Jacob) died and had a brother John that married Lydia. It use to happen a lot. 3. Perhaps there is no relationshipat all and it's just a coincidence. (I hope not) 4. Who is Amazia hBeeson? 5. Does anyone really care? (ya got to have a sense of humor if you're going to research your family tree) If anyone out there can assist in this "tangled web", please let me know. If anyone understands what I just wrote, didn't go cross-eyed, and/or didn't fall asleep, also let me know. Thanks all. Bernnie [email protected]

researching: PEMBERTON

According to notes left behind by my grandmother we are decended from the Pembertons of Philadelphia. My great great grandmother is supposed to be a niece of General John C. PEMBERTON, which would make her the granddaughter of John (II) PEMBERTON and Rebecca CLIFFORD of Philadelphia. She would have married my great great grandfather William MANNAN (1810-1896) and lived in Morgan Co, Indiana. William was from Virginia, settled in Morgan Co before the 1840's I believe. I am trying to find out the names of my great great grandmother and her parents. I have found a record of a Sarah J. PEMBERTON buying land in Morgan Co., Indiana in the 1840's, and a separate note of my grandmother's mentions a Sarah PEMBERTON but doesn't say how she is related (the note says her grandmother is "Samaria Cemetry" but I think this means she's buried in the cemetery of the Samaria church). Records I've been given show a Sarah Pemberton born to John II and Rebecca Clifford in 1829 who died in 1847. My great grandfather was born in 1859/60 so she can't be his mother. His name, however, was PEMBERTON MANNAN so I feel fairly certain of the connection to this family. Anyone have knowledge of this situation? Appreciate any input.
