Thomas Hamm wrote to Quaker-Roots in August 1997: As coeditor for the new edition from the Indiana Historical Society, let me share our plans. This is a new edition (Vol. 1), not a reprint. We now plan eight volumes, each of which will have an every-name index, and a general index volume when the work is complete. Contents will not necessarily follow the order of the original work, as we plan to include monthly meetings established between 1875 and 1900 that were not in the earlier edition,and to include some materials that were not available to Willard Heiss. For example, the new volume one includes material from a volume of Whitewater MM (Orthodox) Women's Minutes and a Springfield MM birth and death record that were missing when Willard did his abstracts.
