These are the pages of the autograph book of
the young Amelia Bertha Patch,daughter of Ephraim J. Patch of Brome
County. She was also the sister of Stillman Patch. Amelia was born
August 13, 1873 in Millington. She married Henderson Harlow Miner
(her first cousin) on September 27, 1893 in Richford,VT.
They later settled in Dunham and ran a general store. The store
closed in about 1911 and the family moved to CT and later to
Springfield, MA. They ran a restaurant in Springfield for a short
time. They both died in 1930 about a month apart. Amelia on April
28th. She is buried in Hartford, CT. Of their 8 children only one,
Arden Miner, remained in the eastern townships when the family moved.
He lived in Cowansville until his death. The children of Amelia and
Henderson were, Harlow, Arden, Wilfred, Leland, Lucy, Roderick,
Muriel and Stanley.
Lucy, my grandmother, had kept the autograph book that was her
mothers and had passed it to her daughter Muriel who gave it to me
when I began to research the family tree. I think it was a great find
along with some pictures of family members. --- Stan
