About The Alburg Cemetery Record Book, FHL US/CAN 27773

This document contains transcriptions from the Alburg Cemetery Record Book. In 1870 the State of Vermont required all towns to record vital records. This Book of Cemetery Records appears to have been motivated by a desire to reconstruct early death records for persons who had died before 1870. It is unclear which information came from from the book cited, which may have been supplemented by original burial documents, or which may have come from inspection of grave markers.

CAUTION: These records are the result of several transcriptions, the latest being this one. You are advised to guard against errors by referring to the original images yourself and where possible, locating the original burial record or marker. I prefer to provide my interpetation of the words whenever it is possible. I am sure some words have been mis-read. Should you have any doubt about them please contact and I will re-examine the documents.
