I am thrilled to find such a comprehensive site about the Surratt family. Prior to locating it, I only had verbal history about my Surratt ancestors. I was told that they were of French abstraction, and that the name spelling had been changed. Thank you, Paul, for sharing the fruits of your extensive labor.

Rhonda, thanks for the kind worrds!

Thank you for a wonderful site. Needless to say you have helped me alot in filling in the gaps when my research took me beyond Brown County. I am needing any help on trying to get into the DAR. If anyone can help please let me know. I have on connection on my mothers side but the Surratt's come in on Dad's side or so he says. I grew up in Brown County and was excited to meet others that have done or wants to do research there. Paul you have been a live saver and you don't even know it. (Big Smile) Thank you again.

You have a nice web site. I've been researching my Sarratt line since 1972 when I lived in Washington, D.C. I was able to meet Dr. Norman and Billie Sarratt when they visited me there, and they very kindly put my name in the intro to the Sarratt/Surratt book they published. They were wonderful people.

I have the Laura and Norman Sarratt book. I trace my self from Joseph,Samuel,Allen,John,John(bNC),Allen(Jersey Co IL),William(Williamson Co IL),Me(Sterling, Whiteside Co IL). In the book the connections in NC seem weak and I am not sure that I have it correct.
Thanks for all the work you have done on my family. I find it hard to beleive that your hits counter is correct. My guess was that it would be much much higher.
