Sarah and Frances are not in Joseph's household in 1870. 
They were children from his first marriage. 

Mary J. COLE and Joseph married about 1859, according to the 1900 Census, 
had nine children, six living. Malinda was still home in 1880, 
and Virginia was three years old. Joseph was a Pharmacist and 
he owned Real Property valued at $500., and Personal Property, 
valued at $130., according to the 1870 Census. 

In 1900, grandsons, 
Howard M., b. Oct 1889, Ky.; 
Robert, b. Jul 1884, WV.; 
and granddaughter, Beatrice, b. Apr 1888, WV., 
resided with Joseph. [REF:#003]

Joseph WILLS above was born in Carroll Co., VA. on April 11, 1824
and died at his home at Zada, in Marsh Fork District on
Aug 04, 1919

"Uncle Joe" as he was familarly known, was 95 years, three months,
and 23 days old at the time of his death.

He came to what is now Raleigh County with his father and brother Hiram WILLS,
and settled on "Sand Lick" in 1843.

A man of great physical strength, he once slew a dear with a rock.
