Samuel S. ROSS, is mentioned in [REF:#155, Pg14] Dau: ADALINE SARRATT, age 18 married [20 Oct. 1840] to D. B. ROSS, Son of SAMUEL S. ROSS and JANE BUCHANNAN, who came from Newark, N. J. and settled Northeast Spartanburg on Broad River, three miles from Grassy Pond They and their two sons Lawson Buchamman1 ROSS (*1811-*1833, age 22) and Orviedien Allison1 ROSS (*1784-*1812, age 28 are buried on that place.

From Nobel Sarratt's Paper of 1897! D.B. ROSS was born at High Shoals, now Henrietta, Rutherford Co., NC. His father established the first iron works at that place. He moved from their and established a similar plant on Sarratt's Creek D. B. ROSS was 11 years old then. He kept the works up after his father's death [1832, D.B was 19 year old at the time of his fathers death. ..prs] till after the late War. At the end of the War he had a large number of slaves and much land. After the War, he farmed until stricken with paralysis, four years prior to his death, which took place Dec. 7, 1889, age 76. He was buried at Beulah Meth. Church, Grassy Pond, of which church he was a member. His wife ADALINE SARRATT, born 1820, [Headstone list b. 1822. ..prs] was a devoted wife and mother, charitable to all. Many now living remember her kindness in sickness and other misfortunes. She was an invalid and cripple some years prior to her death, which occurred June 6, 1893. She was buried beside her husband at Beulah Church.
*This couple have two sons SAMUEL S. ROSS, who resides at Gaffney City, ORVIEDIEN ALLISON ROSS. ORVIEDIEN A. ROSS, born Dec. 17, 1842, was a soldier in the Confederate War and has farmed on the old ROSS homestead since then. He is married and is a member of Beulah Meth. Church. [REF:#155, Pg15]

*Note! Nobel, did not mention that 1st Son: Samuel Sarratt ROSS, who resides in Gaffney City, married Hardin V. LIPSCOMB, c1846 and had 4 children! Miss Hardin V. was a daughter of Capt. Robert LIPSCOMB and 2nd? Wife Allie SARRATT, a daughter of Anthony1 & Letettia (ELLIS) SARRATT This makes his Mother-In-Law Allie (SARRATT) LIBSCOMB and also his Aunt! He married his 1st Cousin, Once Removed! Nobel, did not mention the wife or Children of 2nd Son: Orviedien Allison (O.A.) who died in 1914 age of 72. Nobel, did not mention 3rd Son: Lawson B.,2 because he died in 1897, age 53 No listing of his Wife! Paul R. Sarrett, Jr.
