| Obit. - Martin Frederick Daniel JACKSON, age 62yrs. | [REF:#003] writes: "Martin Frederick Daniel Jackson, born Oct. 17, 1866 in Whitefield, Oktibbeha Co., Mississippi moved (age 22yrs) to the Ingalls, Arkansas area with his brother, John Morgan Elias Jackson, to farm. They arrived January 11, 1888. He married on Apr 2, 1890, Ingalls, AR. to Miss Adella "Della" JOHNSON, where they had 7 Children His nickname was "Fed". He died a week after his 62nd birthday, and is buried in the Union Hills Cemetery, at Ingalls. Aunt Grace (Jackson) McDaniel remembers that he was a large man. She said he weighed about 300 pounds or more at his death. She remembers that he had to have cool water poured over him in the summertime to help cool him off to keep him from having a heat stroke." |

Birth: ___? __? 1913 {1.} Death: Aug. 21, 2005 Arthur Thomas Surratt, age 92yrs, of Crossett died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Crossett, {2.} he was retired from the Georgia-Pacific paper mill, and he was an U. S. Army veteran of World War II {3.} and a Methodist. Survivors include one son, John and wife Rose Surratt of Crossett [Ashley Co., AR.] one daughter, Eloise (Surratt) Wiley of Clarksville, [Johnson Co., AR.] one brother, Pat Surratt of Minneapolis, MN; {4.} two sisters, {5.} Nellie (Surratt) Hollis of Wichita Falls, TX, and Betty (Surratt) Boone of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Edith (Unknown) Surratt; his parents, Finch and Jeannie Wingo Surratt; three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, in the Second Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Courson officiating. The body will lie in state at the church until the time of the funeral. Pallbearers were to be Robbie Harrington, Paul Jordan, Stan Stahley, David Pepper, Dewey Ward and David Bays. Honorary pallbearers were to be Wallace Beck, Gerald Harrington, Bill Boyer and Frank Dolan.
