He grew up in an orphanage somewhere in South Carolina with his Siblings. (Claude,Idell, Alma, Oveda and Paul) Their parents died from a flu virus. I was told that he became a cook in NY, NY. soon after he left the orphanage. He met my grandmother in South Carolina, they married when he was approximately 21yr of age. Her maiden name was Martha Rowell. They then and had two daughters. (Carletta and Reta) Reta is my mother. Idell Sarratt was the only sibling that kept in touch with Carl through the years. She married a minister by the name of Carlyle Smiley. They had several children. Is Earl a sibling or is it possible that Earl is actually Carl. Does anyone have any information on Earl???
