Mary Blake Graves Johnson (dau of Benjamin F. Graves and Harriet C. Young) was the wife of William Henry "Billie" Johnson (son of James M. Johnson and Margaret Beason). Edna Graves was her sister. Sister Edna. I received a letter from you some 2 or 3 weeks ago and would have ansered it but I was waiting for Billie to get a place so that I could write whare we was going to. The letter was a month on the way we will move 2 miles North west of the Cross plains on Conley Tates place. Billie works for money waiges gets 81 80 dollars a year so this is all I can tell you of our future. Now for my boy he is seven months old Blue eyed fair skinned one of the Sweetest Babys in the world. His Name is James Whuger. We call his Whuger. I named him after Mr. Johnson and Boll. I wreckon you have heard of Mrs. Johnson death. She died the 6 of May with consumtion. I do not know whare Mr. Johnson is they were living at allen springs the last time I heard from them I wreckon Mattie Keeps house for him. I was sorry to hear of Sarah misfortune she has my warmest sypathy I have but One boy and he is all the world to me, but if he was to go to a better parent than I blessed would he be. If you come you must come before in 2 weeks are we will bee moved then. So you can come through the cross plains and inquire for conley tates, D Moore or any one there can tell you whare he lives about 2 miles from the plains. Come if you can maybe you could get a school there when free school is out. The school hous is in one mile of whare we will go. When did you get a letter from pat. I have not heard from him this year and I have had but one from you all. I wrote and wrote to you all but could not hear from you. Write just as soon as you get this tell me when you are coming if you don't come before we move. Give my love to Sarah tell her to write soon and some of you come if you can. It is morning an I am sick. I was take Last night with something Like the flux it has been in the neighborhood some time but I hope it will be a lght actact. Tell Sarah I would write to her too but I feel so bad that I cannot this time but will her a long letter when I get moved. If you get this letter write as soon as you can. Direct to C T Cross Plains.
