Westmoreland World, 1 April 1982 - Area Death

William Prentice Harper, died Monday, March 22, at Nashville General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Constance Ann Wooten and Nancy Lynn Parnell; one son, Joseph Todd Harper and his father James Garland Harper. Other survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Arney, one brother, James Harper and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at the Madison Funeral Home in Madison on Wednesday, March 24, with burial in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Westmoreland World, 29 April 1982 - Area Death

Mrs. Lillie B. Williams, Route 4, Westmoreland, died Monday, April 26, in Brandywood, New Hampshire. She was 76. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28, at Alexander Funeral Home with burial in Bethpage Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. J. L. Smith, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Westmoreland World, 20 May 1982

Lorene Meador, age 68, a resident of Route 1, Westmoreland, died Friday, May 14, at the Sumner County Memorial Hospital in Gallatin. She was a member of the Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church. One sister, Mrs. Inez Meador, Westmoreland, survives. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 16, at the Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church at 3 pm. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Alexander Funeral Home in Westmoreland was in charge of arrangements.

Westmoreland World, 20 May 1982

William Nathan Escue, age 63, died Tuesday, May 11, at the VA Hospital in Nashville. He was a resident of Route 2, Bethpage. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Graves Escue; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Nied , Montclair, California, and Mrs. Janie Anderson, Scottsville; one son, Dwight Escue, Bethpage; five sisters, Mrs. Susie Whited and Mrs. Lillie Jo Pope, both of Bethpage; Mrs. Mary Bell Spears, Westmoreland; Mrs. Olean Tinsley, Gallatin and Miss Bertha Escue, Nashville; four brothers, Albert Escue, Westmoreland; Owen Escue, Franklin; Fred Escue, White House and Kenneth Escue, Portland. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13, at 2 pm at the Alexander Funeral Home in Westmoreland. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Westmoreland World, 3 June 1982

Mrs. Iva Helson, a resident of Route 4, Westmoreland, died Tuesday, May 25, at Sumner County Memorial Hospital. She was 80. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leana Wayne of Westmoreland; one brother, Delbert Beasley of Nashville; one sister, Mrs. Ora Mae Smith of Westmoreland, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00pm Thursday, May 27, at Alexander Funeral Home with burial in Caldwell Cemetery.

Westmoreland World, 17 June 1982

Mrs. Leila Foster Dies - Mrs. Leila M. Foster, Westmoreland, died Sunday, June 13, at the Sumner County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Foster, a registered nurse, was a member of the Belshire Methodist Church in Madison. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Caroline Wiseman, Madison, and one son William C. Foster, Gallatin. Three grandchildren and one great- grandchild also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 15, at 2 pm, at the Westmoreland Methodist Church with burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The Alexander Funeral Home in Westmoreland was in charge of arrangements.
