Robert Lee Sircy

Robert Lee Sircy, 78, died Monday afternoon at the home of his son, Freeman Sircy, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock yesterday (Wednesday) morning at Cottontown Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Gallatin Cemetery. Mr. Sircy was a native of Jackson County but had lived in Sumner County about 17 years. He formerly farmed in the Cottontown section. He was a son of the late Kitchell and Eliza Givens Sircy. Besides the son with whom he made his home, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ubell Huffines Sircy; two daughters, Mrs. Odell Mullinax of Jackson County and Mrs. Charlie Shell of Nashville; four sons, Buford and Prentice Sircy, both of Nashville, Ellis Sircy of Springfield, Tenn., and Odus Sircy of Old Hickory, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Sloan and Mrs. Massey Reese, both of Lebanon, and Mrs. Vallie Ramsey Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Richard Sircy of Lebanon and Luther Sircy of Monoville.

Funeral services for Robert Lee Sircy, 78, who died Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of his son, Freeman Sircy, following an extended illness were held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at Cottontown Baptist Church with burial in the Gallatin Cemetery. Mr. Sircy was a native of Jackson County, moving to this county seventeen years ago. He formerly was a farmer in the Cottontown community. He was the son of the late Kitchell and Eliza Givens Sircy. He was a member of the Cottontown Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his son, are his widow, Mrs. Ubell Huffines Sircy: two daughters, Mrs. Odell Mullinax of Jackson County and Mrs. Clarlice Shell of Nashville: four sons, Buford and Prentice Sircy of Nashville, Ellis Sircy of Springfield, Tenn., and Odus Sircy of Old Hickory, Tenn., three sisters, Mrs. Mary Sloan and Mrs. Massey Reese of Lebanon and Mrs. Valley Ramsey of Detroit, Mich,: two brothers, Richard Sircy of Lebanon and Luther Sircy of Monoville.
