Funeral Services Held Last Wed. For Mr. West
Funeral services for Robert Lee West, 83, retired farmer, were held at 2 pm last Wednesday at the Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home. The Rev. A. J. Bunn officiated and burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mr. West died Monday, July 8, at Highland Hospital, after a long illness. He was a native of Sumner County, son of Mood and Liza West. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nannie Lee West, a daughter, and a son, four half sisters, and five half brothers. *(This page on microfilm is a poor copy, so I added his Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home record below.)

Fisherman Drowns Saturday In Old Hickory Lake: Four Sumner People Drown Within Six Weeks

*(Page on microfilm in poor condition.) Marcellous Bond Chambers, 51 years old, was found drown at about 3:50 pm ? near the Number One Community in about 10 feet of water. *(Newby Funeral Home Record below.)

Bertie Claiborne Dies Rites Held Fri. At Corinth
Funeral services for Bertie Claiborne, 80, retired carpenter, were at 10 am Friday at the Corinth Church of Christ. Frank Jernigan officiated and burial was in the Corinth Cemetery. Mr. Claiborne died at his home in Indianapolis, IN, after a long illness. He was a native of Macon County, TN. He had resided in Indianapolis 20 years. Before moving to Indiana, he was a Sumner County deputy sheriff for 10 years. His parents were Ben and Dicie Whitefield Claiborne. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maggie Walton Claiborne, two sons, two daughters, one brother, two sisters, and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Rev. Jutt Sloan were held at Brattentown Baptist Church Sunday and burial was at Pleasant Grove.

Otha Brown Dies, Rites Held Wed.
William Otha Brown, 63, retired carpenter, died Monday at his home here after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services were at 10:30 am Wednesday at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home. The Rev. A. J. Bunn officiated. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mr. Brown was a native of Sumner County, son of Robert and Ann Maddox Brown. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, a son, three sisters, seven brothers, and one grandchild.

We are sorry to learn of the death of Harold Jones of Franklin, KY by drowning. He leaves a wife and a ten year old son.
