Old Citizen Answers Call
James Darnall of Sumner Dies at the Advanced Age of Eighty-Three
James Darnall, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed citizens of Sumner County, died at his home on the Cairo Road at 2:30 Tuesday morning. He had been confined to his home for several months and his death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Darnall, who was called by his friends "Dock" Darnall, was born and raised in the Third Civil District of this county on the farm now owned by Thos. Reed, and was in the 84th year of his age. He was married more than fifty years ago to Miss Aurelia Hamilton who survives him. He is survived also by the following children: Taylor, Lee and Will Darnall of this county, Ernest Darnall of Texas, and Mrs. Effie Caldwell of this county. Mr. Darnall was a good citizen of the highest honor and integrity, who held at all times the esteem of his neighbors and friends. He was a staunch Democrat of the old school. The burial took place at the Gallatin Cemetery Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in the presence of a large assembly.

William Keen
William Keen, aged 85 years, died at an early hour Monday, Nov. 6th, at his home near Eulia, Macon County. He was born in Sumner County in 1825, enlisted in the Confederate Army under Captain Anderson Nimmo and was detailed to look after the wounded. He was mustered into service at Old Camp Trousdale on the 1st day of June, 1861. His regiment was 20th Tennessee. He was twice married, first in 1846 and the second time in 1882. Mr. Keen is survived by his wife and six children who are as follows: Mrs. Sarah Ried, Mrs. Sis Marshall, Mrs. Alice Carman, Mrs. Letha Rose, Mrs. Lara Parker and Bud Keen. There are also 30 surviving grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Mr. Keen was a good citizen, a man of fine religious instincts and a member of the Christian Church. He had been an invalid for several years. The burial took place at Mt. Pisgah.

Died Near Cotton Town
Mrs. Sallie Dill died near Cotton Town last Sunday night at 6 o'clock after several weeks illness. She formerly lived in Wilson County. She was 83 years old and had been for many years a member of the Christian Church. Her remains were carried to Wilson County for burial.

Died in Louisville
Mrs. Lora Craig Stark died in Louisville at Norton's Infirmary at 4 o'clock last Sunday morning. Mrs. Stark will be remembered by friends of the family as the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benj. Craig formerly of this place, and the sister of Mrs. Alex Escue. She was 30 years of age and was married six years ago to James S. Starks of Midway, Ky. Besides her husband she is survived by two small children.

Death Of Ira Dorris
One of Sumner's Oldest Citizens Passes to His Reward
Mr. Ira Dorris, one of the oldest most highly respected citizens of this county, died at the home of his son, Thomas Dorris, at Station Camp, the old home place, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He was 88 years old and had spent his entire life in Sumner County. His death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Dorris was a good citizen and long prominent in the affairs of his community and his county. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Church. The burial took place at the family graveyard yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock with funeral services by Rev. I. C. Hoskins. He is survived by the following children: Messrs. Tom and John C. and Dr. W. B. Dorris of this county, and Dr. Stephen Dorris and Mrs. Louise Randolph of Bandana, Ky.

Buried Sunday
Woody Parker, son of A. Parker, a merchant residing on the Douglass Pike, died last Saturday at the home of his father. His death was due to tuberculosis from which he had been ill for more than a year. He was 31 years old and a member of the Christian Church. The burial occurred Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with funeral services by Rev. I. C. Hoskins.

Died at Baloxi
Friends of the family here have received news of the death of Mrs. George R. Hill, which occurred at Baloxi, Miss., on Tuesday, Nov. 8. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Mytle Hill. The family formerly lived here, having resided several years south of town on the farm now owned by the Fletcher estate. Mr. Hill died several years ago. They had many friends here who will regret to learn of Mrs. Hill's death. She was buried at her old home at Oxford, Mississippi.
