S. S. Miller - Year 1936
S. S. Miller, 77, a merchant at Mitchellville for the past 55 years died at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home there. Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at 10 o'clock. A horse race enthusiast, Mr. Miller attended the Kentucky Derby Saturday and became suddenly ill upon his return home. He was born in Roberson county and entered the general mercantile business at old Mitchellville more than half a century ago. He later moved his stock of goods to Mitchellville and has conducted a store there since. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Richard Kiermier of Chicago and one son, William Miller, with whom he was associated in business there.
