Death Claims George Durham - Prominent Citizen Of This County Dies Saturday Morning.
George J. Durham, a prominent citizen of Sumner County, died early Saturday morning, July 17th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julia Griffin, in the 12th district near Nubia. His death followed an illness of over eighteen months. The deceased was born in this county and was 85 years of age. He had lived all of his life on the farm on which he died, it having been in his father's possession for 103 years. He had been a faithful member of the Methodist Church for many years and an active worker in the church, contributing much to it's progress. He was a man of charitable and kindly disposition and was held in the highest esteem by all.
