Mrs. W. A. Craighead

After ten months of ill health, Mrs. Canzada E. Craighead, aged 83 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. W. Jenkins, in Lafayette at three o'clock Saturday afternoon. She was the widow of W. A. (Buck) Craighead, who died more than 20 years ago. She is survived by two sons, Ottis Craighead of San Antonio, and Willie Craighead of Baytown, Texas: two daughters, Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Joe L. Carter, also of Lafayette; two brothers, Everette Jones of Oklahoma; and Albert Jones, last heard from in Oklahoma; and a sister, Mrs. Oscar White of Lafayette. Burial was made at eleven o'clock Monday in the Wootten Cemetery in Lafayette following funeral services conducted by the Revs. Earl Meador and A. B. Pierce. Mrs. Craighead, who was a native of Jackson County, became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church nearly 70 years ago. She had lived in Lafayette or nearby for the past 60 years and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends who were endeared t o her because of the sterling qualities of her character.
