Jew Bailey Dies of Heart Trouble

Jew Bailey, 79, member of a prominent family of this section and engaged it the produce and merchandise business in Portland for the past 40 years, died at his home here on Church Street Thursday morning, April 25th, at 12:55. He had been ill from heart trouble. Funeral services were conducted at the home Friday at 2 o'clock. Survivors are one brother, Jas. Bailey, and two nephews, James Jr., and John Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a member, of the Church of Christ. Active Pallbearers; W. T. Hardison, Brown West, H  L. W. Hill, Claude Short, Edgar McNeill, E. D. Brooks, Val Lovell, and Charley Dye. Honorary; James Dye, Sr., R. W. Enders, Elmer Hinton, J. H. Woodard, N. E. Langford, W. H. Rigsby, Dr. E. F. Peden, R. E. Gray, V. F. Payne, Paul Groves Fred Brizendine, Clarence Groves, B. D. Ladsiter. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
