J. Y. Robb, one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of the county, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home on South Water Street. Mr. Robb had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for many years and was a devout Christian. His wife, who was Miss Clara Lauderdale, and the following children survive him: Dr. C. W. Robb, Wm. L. Robb, Mrs. Bessie Holder and Mrs. Nella Gilbert. Will McGee.

Popular Man Succumbs to Malignant Type of Typhoid.

Will H. McGee died at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home on Railroad Avenue after  a short illness of typhoid fever. The disease was of a most malignant type and from the outset it was apparent that his recovery was hardly probable. The deceased was 34 years old and married and is survived by his wife and one child, a boy about three years old. He was born and raised in this county and until two years ago resided on the Dobbins Pike and was engaged in farming. For about a year he had been in the employee of the L. & N. R. R. as carpenter. He was popular with the men with whom he was employed and stood high with all his acquaintances. He was a member of the P. P. P. and I. O. O. F. fraternal orders and was deeply interested and active in local lodge work, and the lodges of which he was a member showed their appreciation of him by turning out in full force to attend the interment. The bereaved wife and Mesdames Will McKinley and F. N. Griffin, sisters of the deceased, have the sympathy and condolence of their friends in their great sorrow, which is made more intense by the taking off of their husband and brother while in the prime of life. The interment in Gallatin Cemetery was largely attended by friends of the deceased, and numerous floral offerings attested the esteem in which he was held by his friends.

The particulars cannot be learned, but from the meager information reaching Hartsville and sent out from that place by newspaper correspondents it seems that had feeling had existed between the two men for some time, the origin being a dispute about some chickens.
