Rites Conducted for James W. Adamson

Portland, Tenn., Feb. 24-(Special)-Funeral services for James W. Adamson, 76, farmer of the Brooks' Store neighborhood, was conducted at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. about two miles south of here, this afternoon at 2 o'clock, by John W. Williams of Westmoreland. Burial was in Old Brush Cemetery near Fountain Head. Adamson was a native Sumner Countian and a member of the General Baptist Church. He was a son of the late William and Teithnia Adamson. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nannie Torrents Adamson; two daughters, Mrs. E. D. Brooks, Mrs. Phocian Culbreath; two eons, Lester Adamson, all of Portland, W. H. Adamson, Old Hickory; three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Gaulden, Mansfield, Texas; Miss Laura Adamson and Mrs. Bell Torrents of Cottontown; four brothers, Tom Adamson, San Antonio, Texas; Spurgeon Adamson, Erie, Ill.; John and Bob Adamson, Cottontown.
