Know all men by these presents that whereas Benjamin Johnson late of Sumner County Tennessee deceased by his last will and testament did give and bequeath unto me Stephen J. Johnson of the County of Stoddard and State of Missourie a legacy of two hundred and fourteen dollars more or less to be paid unto me on the final settlement of his Estate of which Said will R. W. Bradley and William Johnson of Sumner County Tennessee are Joint Executors as in and by the said will may appear.  Now know ye that I the said Stephen Johnson have this day made constituted and appointed R. W. Bradley of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee my true and lawful attorney for  state and in my name and for my use and benefit to ask demand Receive of and from the said R. W. Bradley and William Johnson or the Surgate or the probate Court of Sumner county Tennessee the Legacy given and  bequeathed unto me the said Stephen J. Johnson by the said will of the said Benjamin Johnson as aforesaid and upon Receipt thereof by or payment thereof to my said attrny. a General Release or discharge for the same to make and deliver? hereby Ratifying confirming and all ___ whatsoever my said attorny. R. W. Bradley shall saisficly? do bisiness.  In witness whereof I have this day signed my name and affixed my seal this Eighth day of February 1876.

County of Stoddart }   Personally appeared before me C. L. Keaton a Notary Public within and for said county and state duly qualified January 26th 1874 and commissioned 4 perso. January 15th 1878 The within and above named bargainor Stephen J. Johnson with whom I am personally acquainted and also acknowledged the he executed the within and above instrument for the purposes therein contained.  In testimony above of I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official seal done at office in Bloomfield in said County this 9th day of February A. D. 1876.
