wikipedia - Eduard Schütt "studied in St. Petersburg in Petersen and Theodor Stein and 1876-78 in Leipzig with Carl Reinecke, Ernst FriedrichRichter and Salomon Jadassohn. Schütt who was since 1879 in Vienna where he studied with Theodor Leschetizky, 1881 1897 was conductor of the academic Wagner Association. As a composer he is best known for the paraphrase of the Johann Strauß-Walzer "Tales from the Vienna Woods", but he wrote numerous very popular piano works. Since 1892, he lived in Obermais bei Meran, where he bought the Villa Mon Repos. There, Schütt had many students who studied with him. His friends included Franz Liszt, Artur Rubinstein, Johannes Brahms, Richard Heuberger, and Alfred Grünfeld.. OR see videos and compositions, ref.
