In late 1999, RootsWeb created space and developed other resources to support internet *.ged files. The RootsWeb program allows users to search the existing files on line. Use the links at the left to SEARCH the WorldConnect files at RootsWeb and to UPLOAD your family file, or learn about how.

FamilySearch provides internet users access to Ancestral File and the International Genealogical Index systems available from the Church of the Latter Day Saints. In addition, FamilySearch makes available on line information about resources in the Church's extensive library. The button to the left links to the search engine at the FamilySearch site.

Ancestry.com has, for years, accepted gecom files from researchers and made the submissions available on-line. As well, Ancestry offers a database of genealogical resources available to its members for a fee. From time to time, one or more of the commercial databases offered by Ancestry is accessibly to non-members free of charge for a limited period of time. Use the button at the left to link to Ancestry's search engine and learn about databases that may be accessible to non-members this week.

Family Tree Maker offers a commercial site with a search engine that accesses a database of internet genealoly sites and "User Home Pages." Also, Family Tree Maker offers a library of on-line genealogical resources available to subscribers for a fee.
