These are descendants of Thomas Purcell, who was born about 1807. Apparently he was born in the area of Bristol, but whether on the VA side or the TN side is unknown; when he married it was in Scott County, VA.

It may be that Thomas is a son of John Purcell and Ursula Burke, but that is unproven.

Documentation of relationships is variable, not all these links are certain. Please don't take this site as "gospel" but rather as "to the best of my knowledge right now."
