The Lotspeichs



These are American descendants of Johan Jacob Lotschberg's son Johann Conrad Lotspeich. I don't know why the name changed, or whether there are Lotschberg cousins still in Germany. Johann Conrad never left Bavaria himself, where he was a tailor, but some of his children did. Johann Christopher arrived in Philadelphia on 19 October 1772 on the ship Catharine. His first Greene County, Tennessee, land grants are dated 1788; apparently between those times he was for the most part in Virginia. My line went from Greene County to Monroe County, and thence to Missouri.

Documentation of relationships is variable, not all these links are certain. Please don't take this site as "gospel" but rather as "to the best of my knowledge right now."
